Tópico: Pitch-Position Difference between Software & Controller

Este tópico es antiguo y puede contener información incorrecta para la nueva versión.

First of all i want to excuse my bad english. I hope u will understand what i mean.

My setup:
- Macbook Pro 2,2 Ghz Intel with 4 GB Ram
- Denon HC4500 Midi-Controller

I use this setup since a few weeks.
Before i started to use my Denon-Controller i usually used the Keyboard and had not these problem i will tell u about.

For example i play a track on deck 1.
The Pitch-Fader on my Denon-Controller is placed at 0% (Deck 2).
Now i load a track to deck 2 followed by pushing the "sync"-Button.
The Software-Pitch is now for example at +4% but the Denon is still at 0%.
Right playing deck 2 now i want to speed up a little by touching the Denon-Pitch -> the Software-Pitch jumps to Controller position -> the sound goes like micky mouse ;-).

What about locking software-pitch til controller-pitch reaches right positon (maybe in 5.1)?

like i said... sorry for my bad english. Hope u got what i mean ;-)

what about not using sync if you want to use a controller for pitch matching?

The HC4500 mapper (Currently under development will do this (Safe pitch.))

I'm also sure the native support does this too, but can't be 100% certain because I haven't used it for some time (I'm using the controller with the beta version of the mapper.) The small red LED above the pitch slider indicates when the pitch is locked (If this is off, you will need to move the slider to the correct position.)

If you have mapped the controller via general MIDI, you will not get this feature. Moving the slider will always set the pitch to the physical slider position.

@ jpboggis:

There is no native Support in 5.0.7 for Mac.
Think I have to wait for your mapper.

Thanks a lot for your help.

I wasn't aware of that because I don't have a Mac.

The mapper needs native support to work and will only be compatible with the PC version to begin with.

A cross-compiled version for Mac should be possible (I have been working on this for the DMC-2), but not until native support is added.
