Do you have proper codecs installed?
Good packs can be obtained here: http://www.free-codecs.com/

I had a similar issue with the 8600 on XP, changed to Vista and no problem at all. Actually with this card the video looks great on LCD tvs.

Hello discobrain can you tell me a grafikcard with 1024 mb which works with xp

michaela: I had the same problems. The only work around I found was to use the window instead of the "out". You can uncheck excell and it will work but then you can't scratch video and use the clipbank.
if you get it figured out lemme know!

Random crashes could be due to faulty card if you didn't experience this before installing it. As a basic test you should be able to play Crysis v1.1 through without a crash on high graphics settings on XP with anti-aliasing disabled. By "random" I mean that it's stable until you run some app that uses the card more intensively that just regular web browsing. Shockingly even a review site received 3 Nvidia cards, one of which crashed so much as not to be able to complete any tests and another crashed in Crysis. The site blamed it on card being factory overclocked however I'd simply say it's broken if it crashes at all factory overclocked or not.

Well you could either get a different card, or upgrade to Vista.
