Is it really true that I cannot use HEADPHONES! with the DJ Control MP3 software? Tell me I just screwed up somehow!
I bought the Control version because I have an M-Audio 2496 audio card; I want that as mains out and use the on-board sound card (or external USB, etc) for headphones. But the software I got by installing from the CDROM, then upgrading from the website, says soundcard control is for the pro version only.
What gives?

I have the Hercules "DJ Control MP3". It does NOT have it's own sound card, so I use a secondary sound card on my computer for queueing the next track.
Hope this answers yoru question.

in your FREE console version there is one limitation when it comes to soundcards.
It only supports the use of ONE soundcard, so to prelisten that ONE soundcard needs to be a 4.1/5.1/surround card, such as a usb one, where you can have master at channel 1/2 out, and prelisten to rear out.
Hope that helps :)

I can't find any way to enable the headphones -- upper right corner CONFIG, then click SOUNDCARD tab, everythign is greyed out with "ONLY AVAILABLE IN PRO VERSION" over them; there's a single checkbox to the right that says "headphones on 4.1 rear output (use the soundconfig selector for full headphone support - pro version only"
I hear nothing on the headphones; there's no way to select which sound the headphones are on; the headphone button on the console does nothing; the on-screen headphone level is set to max and cannot be move.
I assume that this "home version" is hobbled and therefore useless?
