Tópico: simple soundcard question

Este tópico es antiguo y puede contener información incorrecta para la nueva versión.

hi,
i currently have a maya soundcard, connected to my tt's with tcv. i want to upgrade the soundcard because im starting to play bigger clubs with better systems. the problem however is that i am confused as to which way i should go. i have a Gateway AMD turion 64bit 1.79 GHz with 1 gig of ram running 5.07 vdj.

1) is the audio 8 better
http://www.native-instruments.com/index.php?id=audio8dj&L=1

or

2) HDSP cardbus (my laptop is still cardbus)
http://www.rme-audio.de/en_products_hdsp_cardbus_interface.php

with

a) RME HDSP RPM
http://www.rme-audio.de/en_products_hdsp_rpm.php

OR
b) with the multiface
http://www.rme-audio.de/en_products_multiface_2.php

what is the main difference between 2a and 2b? who is each built for. i know 2a is for dj's but is it better than the audio 8? ive read some stuff on other forums but there doesnt seem to be a proper comparison between these 3 high end soundcards. also, the sites are a bit complicated with computer audio jargon, so layman's terms would be much appreciated.

thnks for the link... i have read pretty much all forums regarding soundcard usage... but even in this post, there is no comparison, or justification on why people choose to go one audio 8 or rme.

Actually, I tried to make a comparison between the Maya and the Audio 8 in that post.

Started with:
MAYA 44
(Good entry level card - however very LOW outputs, ground HUM, fragile)
this is now my back-up card

Upgraded to:
AUDIO 8 DJ
(in my opinion one of the best [if not the best] money can buy - STRONG outputs, no HUM problems, strong metal chassis)

The biggest reason for me was the STRONG outputs. These are the only two cards I've used.

thank you... i did notice that actually... it was your post (among others) that put audio 8 up there on my list.. so i thank you for that.

unfortunately however, i want to compare audio 8 and RME products... maybe i should rephrase my question this way:

if the audio 8, rme rpm, or the rme multiface II were all free of charge but you could only have one, which would you take?... and WHY???

does the multiface not have rca inputs and outputs? are you expected to carry 1/4 inch adapters around everywhere for your tt's?
