Here is what I would do, copy/paste your .xml database found in C:/My Documents/VirtualDJ. There are two folders VirtualDJ Database v5.xml and VirtualDJ Database.xml, paste both of those onto your ext HD. That SHOULD give you want you were looking for. Lets us know if that works..

Yep you need to move your database .xml aswell as your files.

The database needs to be on the same drive(s) as your files are on, it is designed like that.

Thanks for the quick replies guys! I have copied over Virtual DJdatabase.xml but theres not one called version 5 anywhere! So it hasnt worked yet! Any ideas?

Sry, found both folders an copied them in. Still hasnt worked though!! And its mainly my two most important folders! Hip Hop & RnB and Club House!! This is killing me!!!

Open VDJ, go to the config tab..click it. The select browser, in the bottom window in the drop down select the drive (I.E. E Drive) tick check, then clean, then fix. See if that does the trick.

No use, tried everything! Been at it all day. Even had Bagpuss helping me over MSN and still no look! I can't believe VDJ let me down! 3 years of work gone!! I'll have to start scanning all my songs again tonight, and spend the next few weeks doing all my cue points again. I'm absolutely GUTTED over this.............

Where in EXT drive did you put the .xml files?? In a folder or stand alone? It should be stand alone..also..you might need to reboot once that is done...

stand alone and i have rebooted! twice! its weird cos theirs some but not all!

next time use vdj to move your music and it will keep the info

To solve your problem without having to scan your files again, you should have moved the files back to where they were in your internal drive. Then use the files operations ("copy to" or "move to") in Virtual DJ to copy or move your files. This would have ensured that Virtual DJ copies your database files to your external drive.
