Having read the manual I think it can be done but I don't know how to do it, so can it?
I have a track, say the Four Top's "I can't help myself" with multiple genres of motown, party, disco and the year 1965. Can I put in a search of 1960's and motown and the search will find it?
What I'm looking to achieve is the ability to find all 1960's and motown tracks, or all 1970's and disco tracks or all 2000's and r n b tracks etc.

I just tested it myself.
If you set the Genre of a Song to for Example "Party Disco" it can be found by the following searches.
"Party"
"Disco"
"Party Disco"
The reason Virtual DJ seems to do this is because it looks inside a sentence(set of words) and does not look for a exact match, the same as with a song, if you search "the" it will display all songs with the word "the anywhere inside the song title, even if surrounded by other letters, for example "they" would be found with a search "the".
Hope that explains things and answers your question.

Thanks, I am quite Computer Literate, and well thats in the works currently, im currently still at college so only have a Part-Time Job, however im saving up to purchase VDJ 5 in the near future, hopefully shouldn't be too long before then.
I hate being a college student, I could have purchased it in one Pay Packet if I hadn't been stuck at college but out working, owell suppose the education well help me some day, however hope to see me as a VDJ member soon. I'm currently running of a 20 day trial on a new laptop I purchased.
Hence the topic about Sound Card's as the built in laptop one isn't amazing, before using VDJ i was using Winamp and other software to do DJ in, decided was best to go the Commercial Route, as Winamp was not the best in the world.

Ashley, thanks but no it doesn't answer it. The thing I'm trying to achieve is the ability to find a track with a genre of say disco and a year of 1976. I want to input a search of 1970's and disco and come up with 200 plus tracks that are disco and released in the70's.
I suppose I could always have a 70's genre and a disco genre and the search engine would find it. The trouble with that is I have 6000 tunes to assign genres to! What I wanted to do was assign the genre in Tag and Rename plus put the release year in and BINGO I can find any decade with any genre, happy days! :o)

The best answer I could find is Page 22 on the User Guide, creating a Filter Folder, it allows you set filter by more than one item, year genre e.t.c
If you look in the user guide they have a few examples, and its quite easy to create one so wouldn't take that long to setup one if you need certain type of music suddenly.
Good Luck.
