which works best with vdj Intel or AMD

I can't see AMD or Intel being any different as a type of processor, as your OS is a layer between your application and CPU, so Virtual DJ does not call directly to the CPU as such, the OS converts the Program into machine code which is then executed by the CPU and low level, Virtual DJ dose not need to know the CPU and probably has no idea the make of your CPU as this is all handled by the OS. However the thing that is more important is the speed and cache of your CPU.
However it isn't always rated by MHz, for example a AMD 64 3400+(2200MHz) should technically be more power full than a Intel P4 (2200MHz) according to AMD its as powerful as a Intel P4 rated at 3400MHz.
Hope that answers a few your question, if not I can go deeper into the understanding, however don't wont to bog you down with all technological terms and facts, Really its down to who you prefer, some people stick by AMD as being the best and some stick down by Intel for being the best, there is no real true facts about who is and who isn't, down to personal preference.

Computers or laptops with an AMD processors are cheaper in price than the ones that come with intel.. I am using an dell 1501 with a AMD 64 X 2 TL 60 Dual Core 2.0ghz 2 gigs of ram and 256 mb video card ....... It runs super fast. I preffer AMD over intel

Intel is way better right now. A couple of years ago they were equal, but Intels new technology blows AMD away. It can process info faster. If you haven't bought a laptop yet, WAIT. We are days away from the QUAD processor release. This technology will leave all other laptops in the dust. Think about it 4 processors. Its going to be stupid fast.

Yeah, but how stupid expensive for the first 18 months? And is VDJ written to take advantage of that processing?
Instead of a quadcore a better deal might be on a very high end dualcore. Historically once the new cpu's are released the currents ones come WAY down in price. In this depression I would be surprised if enough people are going to opt for the quad option to bring the price of either down anytime soon.
...hope I'm wrong 'cause I'll be looking for a lappy in about 2 months and getting a steal on a high end core duo would really be nice (maybe a 3.0mgz, 4.0gig ram with an nvidia 9800with 512mg for about about $1200....that would be sweet)

I read on the custompc website, that now Intel are bringing out there new quadcore's, that they are selling there dualcore cpu's for up to 50% of the retail price, just to clear the stock and make way for the new cpu's.
So you might find a bargin.

Im with mpezzella. Intel wins hands down with dual cores against AMD's competitive processors. And you will get better performance yet if you use a genuine Intel-brand motherboard. But as DJ-e-lectric said, it is expensive.

My new Wolfdale runs 50 degrees Fahrenheit cooler than my old x2 64. Frickin' five zero!!!
If that's not a good enough reason to buy an Intel, than I give up!
