A piece of my "prop 420", copied & pasted from my myspace blog. Keep in mind the strictness of penalties is an attempt to bring in those on the other end of the aisle. Heh, I'm a progressive, I don't believe in small government and as for it never happening, it sure won't if we believe it won't. Nothing good comes without a fight;^]
First, the law would be as follows; Marijuana and all paraphinalia would be dealt only at designated centers with a five to ten percent tax which goes directly to funding detox/ rehabilitative/ mental health services. You can also grow up to five plants in your home. Smoking will only be permitted either at a marijuana center or at home and all driving under the influence laws apply. Legal age for purchasing and obtaining marijuana is strictly 18. There will be a special team put to together much like the FDA, except to monitor the quality and purity of all marijuana being sold. Driving under the influence laws will also be made stricter, first offense is an automatic ten days in jail, second up to six months and third and automatic year, if a life is taken from the accident then minimum sentancing will be five years and maximum will twenty unless it was found to be intentional, in which case manslaughter charges fully apply. Any company found "enhancing" their marijuana with narcotics or other dangerous/ lethal substances will face criminal charges and face up to fifty years in prison plus business forclosure. Any clerk found selling marijuana or paraphinalia to minors will face the same penalty as stated in the previous line. Also, any other crime commited that involves intoxication will have an additional maximum of ten years added to the sentance for their crime. Illeagal trading or selling of marijuana will face a minimum of one year and maximum of five, and if the illeagal trading/ selling involves narcotic mixing minimum is five years maximum is ten. Selling outside of licensed marijuana centers is strictly prohibited. I also propose a marijuana for food program to third world nations with friendly U.S. relations.

I have to agree with AMAHM and Bagpuss on this one. You can't always trust the media, the Right or the Left. Everyone is full of it. One group says that the economy is fine(Republicans that have no problem with the gas prices or layoffs cause they think about the rich) and those that say doom and gloom(Democrats, duh, it's an election year and they want to point out the idiot that is in office now). But the truth is that hey we are paying over 4 dollars a gallon for gas. Are you freaking joking? I mean 5 years ago it was 1.75 a gallon. What changed? Hell we invaded Iraq, shouldn't it be going down? No because there is too much money involved in it. So do we have an economic problem? Hell yeah we do. Some caused by corporate greed(housing market...lending to folks that they knew couldn't afford it) and others to poor planning by the administration. Remember folks that the rich will ALWAYS get richer. My wealthy Republican friends tell me that there is NO economic slow down or problem. Yeah right...smoke another one! My Democratic friends tell me that the world is too hot and will end soon. Yeah right lets see how you feel after November.
The facts are this...
I manage 65 people for a multi-million dollar company and we are in dire straights. The owner of the company, for more than 45 years, has never seen anything like this before. Many of my long time vendors have either went out of business or moved to India, China, Mexico...we have to cut our budget and think of ways of saving money in order to stay afloat. Many friends are laid off. Well I should tell them that the media is wrong and the economy is doing fine. Do me a favor and lose your job and come back here again...we will talk.
Oh yeah I have made less every year for the past 3 years...thanks health care, but wait...the economy is fine.
The hell with the Republicans and Democrats!
MADD!
As Hell

No.1 We are not paying more than 4 USD per gallon.... check here http://www.fuelgaugereport.com/
No.2 The United States receives over 80% of its oil form Canada, the rest comes from Central and Latin America. Less than 15% of our crude oil comes from the entire Middle East, check here http://www.worldpoliticsreview.com/Article.aspx?id=1981
and has done so since before 2005.
No3 Both parties have blocked drilling for crude in the continental US (that includes the Gulf Of Mexico and Alaska) check here, http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2005/12/21/politics/main1152602.shtml and both parties have blocked the use of nuclear power. Which would relieve our dependency of foreign oil considerably. Check here http://epw.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?FuseAction=PressRoom.PressReleases&ContentRecord_id=AC12979D-802A-23AD-400C-40C241278A64
When things get as bad as they are everyone feels it. But, to blame one party or the other is pure stupidity. The Democratic Congress blocks the Republican President. Check here http://news.yahoo.com/s/csm/20080430/ts_csm/aeconspat While Clinton was in office the Republican Congress blocked the Democratic President. Neither party is working for the people....they are working for their party.....But to make blanket statements like

is showing a considerable lack of realization that both parties are at fault......feel free to pick apart my response to you as I know you enjoy doing..I am very concerned about your enjoyment, and you do love to get the last word in.....

A wise man's heart directs him toward the right, but the foolish man's heart directs him toward the left. Ecclesiastes 10:2
Not that politics should be intermixed with religion, but I think God was being very clear here.
On to AL (chicken little) Gore
Gore’s mansion, located in the posh Belle Meade area of Nashville, consumes more electricity every month than the average American household uses in an entire year
The average household in America consumes 10,656 kilowatt-hours (kWh) per year, according to the Department of Energy. In 2006, Gore devoured nearly 221,000 kWh—more than 20 times the national average.
Not to mention how much energy he's wasting flying around in his private jet promoting his movie... More things that make you go humm
Global warming is the biggest scam of all time according to John Coleman http://icecap.us/index.php/go/joes-blog/comments_about_global_warming/
That's a very close-minded statement, to say your thoughts and beliefs are not influenced by any outside sources is just plain crazy. Forming opinions about Americans from somewhere in the UK is equally as questionable. Whatever the motive, I still think your alright in my book.

It wasn't the Mayflower, I was the head DJ on the Santa Maria, or was it the Nina. I can't remember, mad cow disease, as Denny Crane would say. You guys are funny.
One thing I have learned is, humans are predictable. They have not changed, since the beginning of time. Humans are followers, and will always look for someone to take the lead. There are a few that are willing to take that challenge. Some will be honorable, but most will not. Even the few that start out honorable, some will lose their way. The reason is, humans are flawed, and always will be. I grew up reading the newspaper, and looking at the evening news, and was fortunate enough to have seen the best. I have never thought that any of the networks, or these brilliant journalist, had an agenda. They gave you the story, in 30 seconds. There was no time for their personal views. There has always been shows that offered commentary, but that is not news. CNN came along and again, I never thought they were trying to change my mind. Now, Rupert Murdock comes along, and we get talking heads. These guys are not giving you news, they are taking a few facts, and "spinning" it with bullshit, and feeding it to the masses of clueless followers. I heard about Fox "news" channel, and started watching it. At first I thought it was funny, because it was so ridiculous. However, I realized how dangerous these talking heads are, because we are a world of followers. I know a few highly educated people that are buying into this bullshit. Me, I have been smelling bullshit so long, I can smell it a mile away, so I am not easily swayed by anybody. I am also very capable of of telling you, you are full of shit, because I have no fear. I am old enough to do what I please, so am not constantly worrying about what other people think of me. I can be very selfish at times, so my "thoughts and beliefs are not influenced by any outside sources". I have character defects like most humans. The difference is I know what they are, and accept them. I work on some that cause me trouble, and embrace the ones that work for me. The only people I judge are those that judge others. If i am drowning, I want you to throw me a life preserver. I don't want you telling me it's my fault because I can't swim.
So, these guys are not giving you the news, they are giving you their version of things, and want you to think the same way they do. If it was really fair and balanced, it would be boring. That would mean each view would get the same amount of time, by 2 equally matched opponents. Ever watch a boxing match, with 2 equal opponents. Watch the segment with Bernie and Jane. He always goes first, and gets way more time then she does. I am talking about so blatant, I could not watch any more. Hannity and Colmes is just the opposites. Alan is no match for Sean, just from his appearance alone. TV 101 is, you have to be mildly attractive, to be believed. Alan could not get a job on any network, simply because he looks like Skeletor. They could not find a liberal that looked better? Yes they could, but they know what they are doing.
However, if you want to go with the Guns, God, and Religion Reaganites, that is your right. Just keep drinking the koolade.

That is funny because 2 days ago, my ex wife and I, were laughing about the red koolade. She grew up in NY, and I grew up in Md. We both had the same experience with red koolade. We did not ask for Cherry, we just wanted the red. Even though the whole neighborhood was poor, we all had koolade and ice. Those metal ice trays with the pull handle. So in the African American community, it is a big joke about red being a color not a flavor.
