As some of you know that I been having problems with freezing and video crashing. I knew It wasn't VDJ and I repeat " not because of VDJ ". It was due to one of the windows updates I did several months ago and ever since then I've been getting random crashing when using only video. Luckily it happened just at the begining of the evening just as the floor was getting packed. I had to reboot the software and do an audio only for the rest of the night which was no big deal to me but I was looking foward to a visual show.
The crashing wasn't the worst part. At the very begining of the night a woman comes up to me and request a song I was already going to play anyway as I explained to her. She looked over at my monitor and saw I was using CUE and commented on it by name which impressed me some. I asked her what she spins and she replied KJ and other forms which meant to me she worked for someone who I knew. Remember last month when a temp person using cue tried out for a couple of weaks before I fired him. Well, this person works for the same person.
So when the my system crashed and I happened to be playing her request. I was actually in the middle of transitional mix when it happened. As I was reloading the software she came straight up to me and ask if I could play the song again since it didn't finish and I politely said no but maybe later in the knight. She pleaded with the same answer from me and she finally got it. I had to take a spin around the dance floor to turn off the T.V.'s and by the time I got back the bouncer had to tell me the story of this girl who kept telling him how she could fix my computer because she knew more than me. He told me he literally laughed in her face when she said that because he knew how much I put into this software. That alone shows how much A person is a ROOKIE.
Well, the good news out of the whole night was the owner of a local club down the down street wanted me to talk to him about play there. It would have to be a sweat deal to get me to move and / or play there. The management has some vegas ideas in a "yuppy" community. They remodeled several times but did not change the music Format at all which was the problem in the first place. Then they would hire djs that would not read the crowd and be there to show how much they could use the tt's.
Last night I decided to just restore my system back to factory and do the minimum updates. The system so far runs smoothly with no apparent problems. Now, all I have to do is the minor touch ups of tweeking. Boy, it feels good to have a reliable computer again.
