I was on youtube and saw how some people made their own MIDI controllers. Some one made a computer gun, a joystick, and some other stuff into MIDI. How do you make stuff MIDI and make it work with virtual dj. Can you make anything into MIDI?

Any piece of hardware that contains some knobs and/or buttons could potentially become a midi device for VDJ, it just depends how much modification you're prepared to do. Have a look at my blog, I took the guts out of an old midi keyboard to create a custom midi controller for vdj.
One of our members, Pern, created a driver that allows USB joysticks and gamepads to send midi to VDJ. USB joysticks are loaded with useable buttons and potentiometers, and are therefore a great low-cost source of the neccesary electrical hardware to bult your own controller.

There's also the MixMan DM2 that can be used with VDJ, with the help of some software called midi ox and midi yoke. Then it's also possible to use a graphics tablet as a midi controller. There's a video of that floating around youTube somewhere.
