Tópico: Which timecode cd?

Este tópico es antiguo y puede contener información incorrecta para la nueva versión.

Hello everyone

I am planning on using VDJ with my friends' Pioneer cdj800 and my own Reloop RMP2.

I'm wondering which timecode cd to use that suits both best. I think the cdj800 is more like the CDJ1000 and the RMP-2 is more like the CDJ200, so 2 cds should be needed but asking always helps I guess. And, can't I just adjust the signal with the gain on the mixer?

Thx in advance!

We are talking about CD players, right? The timecode signal - or timecode CD - is the same whatever CDJ is playing it.
I think CDJ800 is the best choice. If it's more like CDJ1000 it has a vinyl mode, and in my oppinion timecode works better if used in real turntables or turntables simmulators. I use timecode vinyls with a Technics 1210.
The output signal can be adjusted with the mixer gain.
Off course, a VirtualDJ license is needed to use the soft.

im asking which of both to use in my case, because that isnt explained in that page.

I quote:
"Pro Grade Sound Level compensates for the loud output that pro CD players give, and to avoid saturation of the timecode signal into your soundcard the actual timecode signal is lowered by -14db. For many soundcards, you need this lower volume timecode CD, if you are using a Pro Grade CD players such as Pioneer CDJ-800/CDJ-1000 or Denon DNS-3500 and similar."
So, you need Pro grade sound level TC:

I think I must explain my incorrect post above.
When I download and test the signal timecode a few years ago, there was only one kind. I choose vinyl cause could not set accurate cue points when using a CDJ, even having obtained 100% of timecode fidelity. Since then, I did not more tests with CD timecode.
Sorry.

We added 2 versions, all explained in Timecode page ;)

omg is to hard to read my first post? what timecode cd to use for an RMP2 and CDJ800?

I answered it above, can't you read it? You will use Pro Grade for CDJ800.

No, the question is which cd I can use on both best. I want to use the same cd for both players in a gig. Any information on the RMP?

thx

I think you could download the 2 signals and test them on both players, and then decide which offers better performance.

Good one, I don't even know what the other player is :)

I don't think this person could possibly be serious.
