I've got a set up with Virtual Vinyl, and I'm playing my timecode cds with American Audio CDI-500s. I've got a problem in that it was sounding very digital just playing. I wasn't scratching or antying, and it was like it couldn't read the music right.

It's an issue with how Signal of the timecode. Fixes???
Any thoughts or help would be appreciated. Maybe it's a configuration setting I've overlooked. Couldn't find anything in the search of the forum.

Have u use the consumer grade tccd? Maybe u are using the pro grade hence it is not reading it right.

What is the wave like? Do u have 100 percent signal?

Try to put the performance slider to fastest n latency auto n untick both safe mode n overclock.
 
I'm using the timecode cds that came with the box. It gets digital when the signal drops a bit below 100%. Won't unclicking overclock cause the comp (laptop) to run slower and have a longer latency, which is what I'm trying to avoid?
 
Overclock is not suitable for this , choose auto latency and the box will work out the rest for you.

If the signal is large it is advisable to use the professional signal.

The idea from spinna did not fix the problem. I had auto latency to begin with, and it was still creating a problem. What do you mean by professional signal? Maybe that is my problem, yet I can't find a setting to change to that.
 
Ok... I figured out what you meant by the professional signal, however could only find this for virtual dj. Realizing they are in just about every way the same program, can I use VDJ timecodes?
 
Yes u may use the VDJ Timecodes CD.

VDJ and NVV is a same program but different branding;)


 
Which I figured, but since I knew updates came out at different paces, depending which you had, wanted to make sure the timecodes would work. Because I couldn't find a professional signal for the Virtual Vinyl, only the VDJ. (actually figured I would just try it, because I had nothing to lose as cheap as cds are) Thanks for your help. I'm going to try it here in a few and let you know how I make out.
 
Did not fix the problem. and now when I try and do the adjustments such as the gain and the white dot section, I get a fatal error.

do you have master tempo "on" on the cd players
it should be off
you have to use vdj's key lock(master tempo)

 
No, Master Tempo is off (default setting, so I hadn't messed with it yet). I have latency set to auto, and have done auto config also.
 
I appreciate everyone's help on this. But when I called Numark today to try and work through the problem all at once, they told me that my players are probably the problem. I have American Audio CDI-500's, and apparently they aren't "professional" players. However, my Denon dual deck had some of the same problem, though not as bad. right now I'm weighing my options, because I don't have $1500 to drop on a pair of Pioneers. If anyone has another suggestion or a possible fix, I'm up to try it (because I would prefer to use something similar to VDJ), otherwise I'll have to look for another program or stay Analog.
 
As far as i know, the timecode signal does not interfere with your sound quality. I've never had it. Only stuff i can think of is:
1. Soundcard issues (try reinstalling it?)
2. Slow PC (tell us your pc specs?)

Can you please show me a screen shot of your signal , perhaps i can help.

The timecode will affect the signal, because if the timecode isn't being read correctly, the system will misinterpret what the timecode is telling it to do.

Again Simon, I will work on getting the screen shot of the signal.

Ok... I was having problems getting this whole BB Code to work, because when I clicked the + sign it went minus, but nothing showed up below it. Anyway, here is a link to a picture of the timecode quality and waveform. Again, the biggest problem for this happens when I am changing the pitch. I have tempo lock OFF and only the pitch slider is on.
