OK......help me out here. I was going to buy the gigaport AG. I know if I hook the usb cable to my laptop, I can select specific output channels the sound will come out of. Does the audio 8 DJ work the same way? Do I just plug in the USB cable from my laptop to the audio 8 DJ unit and then select the output channels I want to use? Does the sound pass from the laptop to the audio 8 DJ via the USB cable or am I missing something? What's the advantage of the Audio 8 over the Gigaport AG or the Maya 44?
Thanks
Thanks

Sound quality & volume mostly. Aside from the fact that it looks cool.

Thanks for the replies so far. Sounds like it's better all around but I'm still confused. Since I have not installed VDJ yet I'm not sure how this will all work. I want to run in stereo. How many output channels do I need for VDJ If I do not have anything else? I've seen where there is a skin that has 4 decks on it. Would I need 8 output channels if I do stereo?
Thanks

I bought the Audio 8 DJ yesterday and it arrived today, it's great, works fine with FL Studio and VirtualDJ, you will be able to use TCV/TCCDs with it. You can use it also to plug it in a mixer. The only problems I found were some sound crackles when using ultra low latency, but low latency and some tweaking has fixed it, I have a good laptop, but loaded with Windows Vista and Toshiba's stuff, most of the crackling and pops were caused because of the wireless/bluetooth adapter

The main advantage of using the Audio 8 is having the inputs and outputs required to use timecode. I have the Audio 8 and I'm very pleased with it. But, if you're not planning to use timecode, there may be less expensive options for you. For USB sound cards, the audio does go from you computer via USB. You just have to connect the outputs of your sound card to the inputs of your mixer.

I have the Audio 8 DJ and I love it.
The only issue I have is that sometimes the timecode isn't always at 100% signal strength. I am not sure if this is related to the new version of VDJ or settings. I am curious if anyone here who uses this soundcard and timecode vinyls has the same issue and if not what settings do you run it on.
My specs:
Toshiba high end gaming laptop
Vista 32bit
4 gb RAM
In fact I am thinking it is VDJ not keeping the 100% timecode signal instead of laptop/audio 8 soundcard combo.
At my residency at the club I have a custom built PC with a Delta 44 soundcard and it also doesn't keep the signal strength all the time.
In previous version it kept the signal strength just fine too.

And latency? what do you have selected? I'll try to use it with timecodes..
