Tópico: Numark dropping VDJ? - Page: 1

Esta parte del tópico es antigua y puede contener información incorrecta para la nueva versión.

I'm not trying to start a rumor by no means but I'm starting to wonder if Numark has any plans in the future with VDJ.

I know recently they have been working with Serato and so far I have not heard one single word about the new version of VDJ as being included with the Virtual Vinyl package.

I've got to know for a fact that I will be able to upgrade VDJ if I buy Virtual Vinyl. Right now it does not ship with the latest version of the software and Numark has told me they have "nothing planned" to include a more recent version of Cue with the Virtual Vinyl package.

Can anybody calm my nerves about this? I'd seriously like to think Numark is still committed to Cue/VDJ.

Not sure what you expect. What ever the situation is, it is a corporate matter, and I don't think they will discuss these issues until they are final. Let's face it, they do not owe us every little detail of the negotiations they are having with Numark. You do have a choice in the matter, if you have concerns. You can buy VDJ, a sound card, and TCV or TCCDs and get all the updates. At this moment, I believe Numark users are getting updates just like we are. At any rate, let's not slit our wrist until we know what is happening.

so with that said i once again ask for the odds on a discount for us numark users wanting to change over to VDJ ?

Strange you should mention this mate,as i have already asked about the software updates before and was told that they had been completed and sent to Numark.Hope us VV DJS get the new 5.02 upgrades before VDJ release 5.03 !!!!!

Aw man...I just ordered Numark's Total Computer DJ In A Box, so, I'll be able to upgrade to the current version of CUE, but after that, if they release no more updates...I'm stuck? I love the Virtual DJ interface so far, after trying out the demo version for a while, and I think I'm going to like the Total Control controller, which is why I went for the box, because CUE is the same as VDJ. If there are going to be no more updates for CUE...I'd like to think that VDJ will take us poor CUE users under its wing and let us switch over without much (or any) of a financial outlay?

Of course, Numark could very well be planning to continue their CUE updates in tandem with VDJ, in which case this is all moot, so perhaps I shouldn't be worrying. But I can't help it, you see...

Well, nothing won't last forever...i guess that's all for us, CUE PIPS...
Hmmmmn, what will i use next?better start thinkin people!

u are right

-- People do not read into any of what is posted here and turn this into a story that is completely not true. --

There are no such discussions and the issues with the VirtualVinyl release is in the hands of Numark. It is their product and their call on if it get's release on this site. They also make it available for download from their site, so the fact that it is not available for download from either site should tell you something.

As it has been stated many times over, if you have an issue with this product and it's release you are talking to deaf ears here as we are not Numark. Numark has their own support and forums. Your complaints and concerns should be taken to their staff. We can do nothing to assist you or get you the product any quicker.

Again the title of this post is completely bogus and should not be read into any further... btw for the record - it's versions 5.1 / 5.2 and not 5.02 (we are way past that)

As long as I keep getting my VDJ updates I could not care less, I don't buy Numark products. I learned my lesson on that one.

Ok dumb question, I have Numark Cue, could i switch to VDJ without having to spend a total of 400 for the same software? reason i ask is Numark has been slow with updates and has no native suport for the Vestax VCI-100.

Diddo

yes! a discount at the VERY least? VDJ hear us out! We were told both were the same and they ARE NOT, we were dooped by both Numark and VDJ

Ok girls, we're off to the races now. Let's see how long we can beat this horse.

i will beat it till i get what i want *grin*

I'll take another swing....

Let me know when your arms get tired.

The title of this post is not bogus. It was stated as a question or concern mostly based on this email I received from Numark.

Hey Aaron,

Virtual Vinyl ships with Virtual Vinyl not Cue. Virtual Vinyl is more advanced as it has drivers for time code. You can update to the latest available on our website after purchase.

thank you,

Obviously, I've already been through the whole "asking Numark" thing. For months I was thinking I'd be able to get updates from VDJ since it is the same software and it's looking like if I buy Virtual Vinyl now, I might be stuck with Version 5 and so far neither Numark or VDJ has been able to confirm a release date for a Cue update. This scares me.....I don't want to buy a product that I can't update.

That is old news and no impact on this particular situation.

As for roapr -- sorry you have drawn this conclusion from that email. Matt was stating a fact - you can update to their latest version available once you purchase the full version. Now if he said they had no plans for future updates that would make me worried. But that is not what was stated. As to the comparison of the two products? Well they can represent their product how they want.

My situation goes as follows. I have a denon 4500 that i dont want to put into my rack because i can't use it with CUE. It works great with serato and if i didn't have as many video gigs as i do i would have racked it from day one and ran with serato until numark released the software. Fortunately most of my up and coming gigs are with video screens but with that said there sits the 4500.
I'll wait a bit longer, if it keeps standing in my way I'll drop the money for VDJ . It just sucks that we have to come to this.
I have posted on the numark forums and all i got where 15 views and 0 responses.
Needless to say, if i would have known that numark would throw a wrench into the mix i wouldn't have bothered buying cue and would have gone straight for VDJ.

i have always said.. y buy from the retailer when u can get it directly from the manufacturer...

Sorry about ur plight mon.. I hope it all works out
and everyone has a happy ending
