Just looking at the two specs the Compaq seems to be more suitable to video. I am sure though someone will come along who uses one or the other and help you out some more....

ThanX M8 i was thinking maybe the compaq myself ...

I've got this but the Acer Aspire 5920G model.

It cost me £500. It has a slightly faster processor at 2.00 ghz and the Nvidia 8600GS 256mb graphics card, so far so good. It's worth that little bit extra for the dedicated graphic card.

Have you had any problems with it.. ???
sound good to me like... ???

all im after is a laptop to play videos & Mp3s with VDJ with the scroll plugin & the cover, titiler, & Stuff..

Edit [was too slow posting, I shouldn't open up 10 tabs at a time!]

At that price, the ony Jimmy posted from Amazon is a bargain.

Found it, This exact one is mine.

Had one or two little pops and hi-cups at first, but andrew helped me out and it's fine now. I don't alot of video, but what I've done I've had no faults.

I use all the effects though, all the time and I don't have any problems.

Steve Xcite the Compaq's graphics card is quite weak in comparison, here's a comparison chart. The difference between the Acer at Amazon and Laptops Direct (I've used both companies and been completely satisfied with their service) is that the more expensive Laptops Direct version has an HD-DVD drive. Seeing as this is a dead technology now, it's worth saving the money and getting the one from Amazon.

Obviously I can't vouch for how good the laptop is as I don't own one, specswise it's brilliant for the price, but if Jimmy gives it good feedback, I think you should seriously consider the Amazon option. It is far far better than the two PC World options.

One thing to think about however, what are the video connections on your laptop like Jimmy? Is it HDMI only?
