Tópico: File problem with Virtual DJ

Este tópico es antiguo y puede contener información incorrecta para la nueva versión.

Here is the problem we are having, when you use the search program for a song Virtal DJ shows there are multiple copies of the same song. Sometimes like five versions. Problem is when you try to load that song 4 out of the five say "file does not exist" or Error. Now to the real funny part one day the song will load fine the next it will give that message or not find the file at all. We are running Vista at this time.

Are you plugging in and unplugging external drives and/or moving files around alot inbetween gigs? Usually this problem is because when you plugin an external drive it adds the contents to you database and it puts a copy o fthe database on each external drive, but it isn't smart enough to know when the drive is not pluged in to remove the files not physically on each drive...you have to do that manually. To fix this before each show go into configuration/settings, look on the "browser tab" for the section that says database. There is a drop down that lists all the drives connected and three buttons "check", "clean" and "fix". Go to each drive and hit check...this will find all the files in the database not available on that drive, then hit clean and it will get rid of the information on those files for you, repeat this for each drive connected.....don't really know what fix does cause clean always fixes my problem and if I use fix instead of clean sometimes it locks up the harddrive....go fiigure.

Hi there, this is probably the wrong place to post this, but anyway ill tell it.

A couple of weeks ago i bought a numark dxm01 usb mixer. For the first couple of times it worked like a charm.

But now i've been getting the error ( error in the sound driver of directx) only when i switch to numark mode on the config screen.

I've try'd to re-install virtual dj, but without luck. Any suggestions on fixing this?

Ill try to install directx 9 and see if it works then, if not, than that kind of sucks :P.

Thanks in advance :)

Please don't hi-jack this thread with your problem,

Start on new one in future, thanks.

ive noticed i have some duplaicates, and of these, some dont load correctly.
the file begins to load shows 4m30s then when it completes loading, it jumps doen to 1m20s or so.

but then i load the other of the duplicates, one of them works.

found this lastnight, so i just deleted the ones that didnt complete loading properly.

this was on vdj 5.2 so could this be fixed in 5.2.1 ??

the files were mp4.

also the other week, i wanted to play New order - Blue Monday. i went to load up the extended original 12in verison, and vdj crashed. so i restarted and loaded a different mp3 of the same track, and same problem (confused) the rest of the night went ok though. there was no crashguard report, cause it didnt track the error. the fault was that the RAM memory filled up and brought the system down.
