Hi everybody.
This Friday a had a gig, and for the first time I will use Video on it!
Now I´m currently using the 3 line mixer option with my ESI U46, so I´ve got all the outputs to the Vestax mixer...
The thing is....when you use such this config, or a similar one with timecodes or something, how do you control the Video crossfader?with a keyboard shortcut?or how? becouse when you use a external mixer, there is no way to control the virtualDJ crossfader, I´m correct?
Thank you a lot for your help!

Your options are...
Manually manipulating the video crossfader with the mouse
Keyboard shortcuts
One of the MIDI controllers that will allow you to execute an automatic video crossfade - such as a DAC-3, DMC-2, HC-4500
The best solution IMHO is to use a MIDI mixer such as a Ecler Evo, Korg Zero, Hercules RMX, Pioneer DJM-800 etc... as your external mixer

Scott

Thank you a lot SBDJ.
I´m considering to get 2 Denon DNS-1200 or Pioneer CDJ-400, as they are MIDI, is possible to control the video crossfader or set it to auto with this products?
Cheers!

I've no idea I'm afraid...
When using a controller to manipulate the crossfader, you are very limited in what you can do - basically not much more than you could with keyboard shortcuts.
You are definately better off using a MIDI mixer, or a Denon X-Control solution...

So fot now and the weekend gig, I´ve to set up the kayboard shortcut....
Wich is the function that controls the Video Crossfader? And I´ve to set up NOT to link crossfader to the audio one, isn´t it?
Thank you a lot SBDJ.
Ohhh, I forgot, really good plugin your SlideShow, it works awesome!

You're not SOL...
In some skins (such as the DAC3 skin), you can select a video transistion such as "cut" and just activate it. When deck 1 stops, it will automatically switch the video crossfader to deck two and vice versa. I have a friend who does that all the time. Just be careful as your doing things. If you play with some features it will turn off. No big deal, you just have to turn it on again.
Hope that helps. :)

Yhank yoy a lot brian! Finally it works, and in the normal skin....when you select for example fade, and you activate the effect it produces an autocrossfader effect.
Also I assignt a keyboard shortcut to control the video crossfader, becouse if the autocrossfader is not in the end of the song it does not complete the crossfader.
So thank you a lot!

THis is true, but that's why I suggested "cut". If you use cut, you wont see the other video while you're mixing. Then when you want it to cut over, just stop the other deck and it will cut right over. That way you wont see the other video and a semi video transistion. ;)
