Tópico: timecode vinyl and Hercules MK2

Este tópico es antiguo y puede contener información incorrecta para la nueva versión.

I currently have VDJ control edition that came with my Hercules MK2. I want to get into timecoded vinyls and video. 2 part question i guess. 1) what do i need to get into vinyls? i have one old school vinyl player from my parents and ill of course buy a new one (or two new ones), and i will also of course by the timecoded vinyls themselves. but do i need to buy anything like virtual vinyl or some kind of box to run between the MK2 and the decks? 2) i think that my VDJ software will do videos but what does the VDJ Pro give me that my edition does not have in respect to video mixing? i know thats a lot but help is always appreciated :-) thanks!

Ideal you need 2 direct drive turntables with pitch control on them. Look at the Numark range for starters. Or if you can afford them, go for the Technics 1200 or 1210's.

As for your sound card you can make do with your MK2, it has a (average) soundcard built in.

Finially I would go for the Pro version, this will allow full control of the timecode and video options, oh yeah I forgot, you will need a set of Timecoded vinyls from this site and plenty of RCA cables, lol

do i NEED Virtual DJ Pro? or will i be ok just getting a pair of TCV and turntables and plugging it all up and start playin?

Yes, as djc edition have only limited time for u to play ard n it is limited.

just mess around with the version you have now until you can garantee yourself you will like it.
and then buy virtual dj pro.. you will benefit a lot indeed. you will be able to use your TCV as long as u want, have more effects, different skins, sample... and ya can do absuluty ANYTHING you want with music... the only main requirement realy is your imagination and creativity... if you have that you bee away my friend.

and next... i wud either buy newer better decks like technics.. or even buy a new mixer like the hercules rmx....
however if you do want to use a normal advanced mixer like the djm 800 with TCV, you will need some sort of box... like virtualvinyl... even tho virtual vinyl is expensive... i am sure there other soundcard boxes which would do the job.

good luck

i already have the hercules MK2 ... why do i need a new mixer or some other box? cant i just plug two turntables into my MK2?

Yes you can, the turntables RCA cables plug straight into input 1&2 and 3&4. You then use the mk2 as a mixer. Slap some TCV's on the decks and alittle timecode config and away you go.

so im looking for some new turntables now... i really dont wanna spend too much and i know you get what you pay for so im looking for a set of direct drive tables. what do you all think about Numark Battle Pak V4. it comes with 2 tables which i would plug into my Hercules MK2. i would basically not be using the mixer that comes with the pak and the headphones would be a back up pair. i just cant seem to find 2 direct drive decks for the price

They are Direct Drive decks in that battle pak ain't they.

What is your budget for the decks?

budget = as cheap as i can ... they ARE direct drive in the pak so am i wrong for thinking thats a GREAT deal on two tables plus the extras

No you are not wrong, it's a not bad price really. There probably the bottom of the Numark range of direct drive decks ( I maybe wrong thou) I use Technics 1210 mk2, and never used any other decks. But they will get you started.
