I used to have 2 sound cards for my laptop; my headphone plug in the internal & the external is pluging to the mixer by using the "Y" cable.
So now, if i have the laptop plug to the mixer by usb... do I still need the 2 sound cards to mix ? or the usb mixer is enough? will i be able to hear both decks from VDJ?
Please someone help!!!

in the past i have used this mixer
i found it the perfect transition between using keyboard shortcuts and timecode. you will need two usb ports free as the mixer has 2 soundcards built in and the setup is quick and easy.

so do you mean a usb mixer is enough? no need 2 sound cards on my laptop?

no you dont need the onboard soundcards at all. each soundcard on the mixer assigns to a one channel on vdj so you can control the sound on both sides as well as use headphones, and other functions specific to the mixer. the only thing is you cannot connect cdj or vinyl for use with timecode.
