Tópico: Just had a interesting phone call, lol

Just had a guy on the phone to me, offering me a DJ job invite.

He ask me what music I played and what used, told him VirtualDJ. He said he didn't want any PC based software in his place and started ranting on how unreliable they are and how I'm a crap DJ for using it.

I just started laughing at him and told him to fcukoff then, Bloody tosser.

Still pissing myself about it.

only if you don't mention computers, the tit head, best part of the club will be controlled by software one way or another... i'm sticking to my gramophone records when i go to his place for a job.
 
Next time Jimmy tell him you fart on cue..and hold the mic up too your bum......I get involved in that debate at least once a quarter..and I always get a kick out of it....
 
nowadays what aint controlled by a pc? just because his PC's riddled with loads of virus's he got off visiting all those porn sites!! oh well 1 down plenty more clubs in the sea! (well maby in Alantis if anybodys found it yet!!)
 
computer djing doesnt get any respect. u have to have controllers to get respect from ppl who know nothing about computer djing.
ppl like to see lights, knob turning, and something spinning. u shouldnt even mention that u use a computer just mention your controllers (technics tts, etc).... even tho u know u dont need them.
 
ghettotech is right, ever since i bought the rmx everyones attitude has changed and you can feel there is more respect shown, yet i could still manipulate the programme just as well without the rmx, the muppets.

this one is fitting but deserves to be in the "gets on your nerves" thread too.
about 2 weeks ago guy comes up and wants to look at our turntables to see what we're using cause he likes the mixing we're doing, and of course he's "a dj too". we use a mouse and a keyboard. nothing else. and off he goes on the whole anti-computer / anti-digital thing, and on about how much better we would sound if we used turntables and vinyl.

so. let me get this straight. you don't know what we're using and like it so much you have to come see what kind of set-up we have, and when you do see it it's not really good dj'ing?

then he goes on to explain how everytime he tried to download VDJ he kept getting a virus that would mess up his computer. HELLOOO... LIMEWIRE... CRACK!

stupid people. why aren't we allowed to shoot them again?

In my country, it's totally different. Most of the club owners are looking into a more advance techniques in djing, thus by using the digital means.
Considering you have all the hardware that will control your software and you're in.

I guess those people that doesn't know how to embrace todays technology should be locked-up inside the museum or whatever.
Jimmy haven't you ask him if he's in his mid 90's or born during the 1st WW!!!
 
The problem here is some people dont think you are a "real" dj if you use software, and they will rass you for it.
I know the company I work for are afraid to use the digital setup because of the crash factor. They are afraid they will be doing a gig and the laptop will crash and interupt the party. I have explained other options while still being able to use dj software but some people are just set in their ways.
 
uuuuhhhh wild ? you can shoot 'em , just don't use anything fatal .......

maybe a good blast of buckshot in his @ss will cure what ails 'im.......

for a flat $300 the software does all the work .....that's why we don't want it around our place

the software CAN do all the work but most people hock up timecoded and beat mix themselves its more just a huge libary of vinyl on 1 vinyl! and the software can only play the songs and do what you tell it to do if you dont tell it to do anything its going to be a very quite night!! even on automix you have to set the cue points ect, and if you cant mix then the software aint going to help you out much either!! it wont say 'oi you better drop this song in 2 seconds oh and rember to turn the bass and trebbel down and then maby crossfade in 30secs and bring the bass & trebbel up!!!' its only a tool that helps you its like using a spellchecker and saying it did it all for you!!! arrrrr rant over lol! (i see youve brought the software then so ull know!!!)
