Tópico: VDJ compatibility with Vista and other DJ Progs

Este tópico es antiguo y puede contener información incorrecta para la nueva versión.

Im looking into upgrade my laptop...but all the newer ones out now only offer Windows Vista...so my question is does VDJ run fine with vista and also ive heard of conflicting issues for users of the windows vista 64bit version not for VDJ per say but for other dj progs such as ableton or so..and what the hell is the difference between the 32bit and the 64bit of vista anyways and does it make a big difference performance wise??...so i was wondering if any one has had any trouble?

Runs fine on Vista 32 bit.. and is made for running on Vista.

Vista 64 bit is not really for the normal user, get 32 bit.
A lot of driver and software dont support 32 bit

:)

I haven't tried it yet, but want to hear from others that have.

The terms 32-bit and 64-bit refer to the way a computer's processor (also called a CPU), handles information.

The 64-bit versions of Windows can utilize more memory than 32-bit versions of Windows. This helps minimize the time spent swapping processes in and out of memory by storing more of those processes in Random access memory (RAM) rather than on the hard disk. This, in turn, can increase overall program performance.

...but the 64-bit version of windows has to run 32-bit applications using WoW so it's not all good ;)

Not to mention driver issues - driver signing is mandatory on Vista x64, and this may prove an issue for a lot of hardware...

I have a 64 bit version of Vista. Can I or can't I run Virtual DJ?

you can...

but you might have a whole lot of troubles with hardware drivers (non Virtual DJ related) and other software..

I'd say go with 32bit Version of Vista, if you can..

If it came preinstalled with 64-bit (means all hardware should have good drivers), you should be fine ;)

There is a article which I read off the MS site. Which was weird saying how they are being sued by so many people because of the problems about the OS. XP is also being extended on the retail side a little longer, wish I could find the link again. Then you see the cheap commercials on TV, oh I can not believe I am using Vista, I thought it was a new software. Yea, pay me what you are paying these people to say that, and then ship your gold to me after I tell you how to make money in the housing business with no money down when you order my product for no money down, but just pay $19.95 now for a free item. Lol.

To get back on topic, it is just weird how it works for some people and others it does not. I have not tried it yet, maybe another 4 years when it is required, or if I lose my XP CD one way or the other.
