Tópico: Small vs Large CDJ

Este tópico es antiguo y puede contener información incorrecta para la nueva versión.

So I'm looking into purchasing some decent equipment. I've decided on a xone 92 but now I'm debating between CDJs. I'm looking to spend no more than $1000 on 2 CDJs. The dn-s1200's seem like a decent choice to save a little cash but my main questions is - will having a large mixer such as the xone 92 alongside with 2 dn-s1200 (a lot smaller in size) look awkward, cheap, etc. next to each other? IMO it would just seem weird having a huge mixer then 2 tiny (in comparison to the mixer) CDJs. Thanks for the help.

Take Pioneer CDJs: the 400 (if you want/need midi control for VDJ) or the 800 mk2 or 1000 mk 3 (last 2 haven't usb/midi interface).
If you have xone mixer, take the best stuff for spinning. Denon or Numark a far far from Pioneer for the CD. Precision, quality, reliability.

Look at every large club, they have pioneer CDJ.

If your max is 1000 for CDJs... ive bet if you look at craigslist.com and you may find 2 cdj 800 for that amount. From past expereinces, wont deal with denon cd players any more. Pioneers play so well, no wonder many clubs use them.

I dont know where you live but if you do live in NY... Check this out

Unless you want to do major scratching id go with the 400's over the 800's. Much, much, much more features.

i am also trying to do a new gig setup..thinking of the cdj-400s..... but need a good midi mixer... cause i do video mixing.....also a decent laptop that wont freeze etc

The reason why people buy cd players with a larger platter is because they want to have more control of the platter. They want to scratch better, do back to back on songs. Its all about the feel. You buy what feels better for you. Just because the cdj 400 has midi doesnt mean its better. You can control all that stuff by pushing keyes on your laptop also. When ever you buy dj equipment, its better to go to the store and check it out up front. Many buy equipment and end up selling it for something else. Do an hands at the store to see what feels more confortable.
