I have been using DVD shrink to rip my dvds and music videos. What do you use? Can you suggest a better software?

DVD Decrypter (if you can still find a copy) works great. I use it to copy the DVD title into separate files for each chapter.
Many DJ DVDs split the intro into a separate chapter, so for those scenarios, I have written a program that allows you to take the Artist names and Song Titles from an excel spreadsheet, paste them into a textfile, and the program will rename the files with the artist names and song titles, and if you tell it to, it will also automatically merge the intros and main songs into a single file.
I've got this program available for download if anyone is interested. PM me if you'd like to try it. It is DOS console based, but it works great!

With audio grabber you can set the quality of the audio for Cd rips. Is there a video ripper that sets the quality of the audio rips?

Uhm... Video Rips will be 1:1 - exactly what you had on the DVD, until you compress them.
I'm not really aware of tools that easily let you copy the video and then transcode it all in one easy step... (not that they don't exist, but I've not come across one).
I usually rip the VOBs with DVD Decrypter, Label and merge them with my VideoLabel tool, then use StaxxRip to compress them into x264 Matroska videos which look almost as good at less than a third the size. Best of all, it's all free software. I've found video compression utilities tend to be a tad difficult to configure, but I do have staxxRip working well, and it's easier than some I've seen - kindof a frontend for a whole bunch of other assorted utilities.
One thing I'd like to be able to do is also to tag the videos. I've heard that Serato actually does use these tags - it'd be great if VirtualDJ could catch up in this respect - but has anyone found a good tool for tagging vifdeos that would make it relatively painless?

been using this for years here nice and simple (has to be for me, lol) with great results both on audio and video, has free trial software to use and keep, only problem with the trial any tracks over 5 minutes will show a water mark, keep it below and your fine. ( think i got a tutorial somewhere)...
it took less than four minutes from me starting to make this video to the end to rip and tag two DVD music video tunes
the video clip is not to sharp so if you want a better version just pm me
hope it helps someone...

What are the prices on the software you guys talk about? If it's known to work well, and are supported by good companies (or developers), then I'd have no problems paying aroudn $30 for a program like that. Much more than that and I'd have to think about it...
[edit]
I see that AVS is selling their whole kit & kadboodle package for $70, which probably isn't bad for all that it includes. Has anyone here used their Video Editor? I'd like to be able to make extended versions of music videos by using an already remixed audio track and editing the video to match it, I wonder if that would be good software for that kind of activity.

never tried it in all the time i've had that bundle, if your just starting out into editing go for ulead 9 or 11 (now since the takeover belongs to corel) is an easy and good little programme, or if more experienced try sony vegas but be ready to part with an arm and a leg...
@adeshady, exactly what avs is all about, follow the link or watch the vid. how quick is imtoo similar or faster...

Hi Tayla imtoo Dvdripper From a point of speed is very fast eg i take a promoonly dvd and it will rip and convert the whole disk
30 Tracks approx on my machine in about 30 to 40 mins all i have to do is rename the files agian about 10 mins
what i also like is the easy layout, as for quality i have no issues on that score vidio or audio , i run vid through a spliter to 3 large
plasma at the club . and the sound goes into four twin 15 inch yammaha speakers . that said as you know a lot of these programs
are reliant on a good prossesor speed and ram . i know that for me it works just fine and very reliable results

If you use Promoonly as I do or Screenplay as many others do and want to avoid the naming hassle use this program, it's a real time saver.
http://lmoffice.com/DJExtractor/ It rips them to VOBs. (and names them)
With the price of disk space I've all but stopped converting Vob's to any other format but I also use IMTOO if I want to convert files.
