hey folks

I have been trying to get this sorted for a while and am sure its a common question

So I play on pushfm and use a hercules rmx 2 and virtual dj. Anyways so i use the rmx as a soundcard and when i click broadcast and have click broadcast line and mic it says the mic cannot be detected? What am i doing wrong? I can hear the mic coming out of the speakers but its not broadcastings. Am sure this is a common question so any help would be appreciated

First things first, open your PC control panel>Sounds and Audio Devices>BOTH Audio and Voice, select the RMX as the soundcard for voice recording. Test the hardware. Close your control panel. Reboot your PC. Open VDJ then select mic and master for record/broadcasting. To test before broadcasting, try recording to file..and just use the mic..it is also useful to get your mic level right before broadcasting.

Open the RMX control panel, make sure you have mic streaming selected. Now go through the steps I described again. Also, make sure you have the mic button pushed own on the RMX and use the top mic input jack.
 
nup still no joy, cant hear it on the recording or on air??? keeps saying no soundcard detected
 
Sorry, that was all I had to do to set mine up....stupid question but, is the mic turned on?
 
yeah tested mine and it works through my amp but just not through this grrrrrr !! thanks for helping !
 
right i run my own radio station and use the RMX and VDJ to do the same as you mate what ya need to do is on VDJ go to config > sound setup, put the settings to this - Inputs = none - Outputs = Headphones - Sound card(s) = Djconsole RMX, untick Apply Eq on external mixer. - Output channels = master : 1&2/Headphones : 3&4, then go into your Hercules control panel - Audio mode = WDM, then click Mic on the bottom left, best turnin your talkover up too cause it does come out a bit quiet i have mine on max, then go into Advanced and click USB Streaming 1-2 Microphone, Right now to the broadcasting on VDJ click config - Record from = master+mic, then drop down menu Hercules DJ console RMX, Click Shoutcast MP3 then choose the KBS you want to stream at (i normally use 96KBS), then click Broadcast to a radio server and put in ya details.

Then try it :D, these are the exact same settings i use to stream over my radio and it works perfect, most ppl forget you have to press the mic button on the RMX first before you talk tho haha, what i do is press the mic button on the RMX then turn the music down a bit so it is easily heard.

sorry forgot to reply to this, but worked fine. Only thing is now my hard drive went the other week so having to do it all over again !! But will give this a try as it didnt work last week for my radio !! grrr !!
