Re-installed 6.01 and now it working good.
Only things is that the video effects working a little strange now.
The buttons sometimes don't work when you click on it but most of the time they work.
Do I only have that ?

Hi all! I don't know if this is the right forum to post this, if not i apologize in advance. When i was using the demo for 5.1 or even the Cue LE that came with my Total Control i was able to start and stop a sample using the effects button. If done fast enough it would sound like a stutter effect. With the demo for vdj 6.01 the effects button only starts the sample but does not allow me to stop it using the same button. Is there any mapping that i can do to rectify this problem?
Not withstanding that the program is awesome. You guys have just taken something already great and made it even better. I especially like the fact that i can adjust the sensitivity of the jog wheels on the controller.
Thnx and keep up the good work.

You can use play_shutter instead., just change in mappers PLAY with play_shutter (also see play_pause & play_button)

In your mapper, try the verb "toggle [whatever the effect is]." That way, every time you press the button, the effect wil either be on or off.

again im not hating on vdj i happen to like the layout more than mixvibes and Traktor Scratch .
i was using Traktor Scratch Pro for good bit with my rme sound card .
side by side with vdj
and i can tell that Traktor Scratch had a much more rich cleaner sound playing the same song .
with mixvibes (which i have) has about the same as Traktor Scratch .
anyway im hoping vdj comes up and beats down mixvibes and Traktor Scratch on the sound front and the scratching front.
as for now. as far as scratching. mixvibes is the king it as more of a natal feel to vinyl .
being that was a turntablist (im going to get be in to it ) i can tell

one more thing to add to this
if u have a OCZ Vertex Series ssd
vdj starts to feel more like mixvibes :)
cause its a ssd your not waiting for the hard drive to spin plus its a nice add on to my laptop .

The jogger wheels on my Xponent dont really work to well with the update. When the track starts, the jogger wheels are delayed on vinyl mode. But when the track is on pause, it works fine.

Try changing the jogwheel's touch sensor mapping (scratch_wheel_touch) to the following:
scratch_wheel_touch & vinyl_mode ? down ? hold on : hold off : nothing

Got my first problem with version 6.01. Tested it many times before with my total control but they were short sets, like 15 minute sessions. Tried this weekend to test it for a full 2hrs just to ensure that i wouldn't be embarrassed if i was to use it to play at a party. Round about the 30 minute mark the total control stops responding. The lights are still on. The keyboard works fine at this point but when i re-scan for the controller it does not show up in the list. Disconnected the controller and reconnected it and re-scanned again an this cause the program to freeze.
I used the process of elimination to test the sockets on the USB hub that i was using. I even connected it directly to the USB port in the laptop and got the same problem with the long sets. During a short set i could disconnect the controller use the keyboard, reconnect the controller and re-scan and there's no problem, but anything over the 20-25 minute mark is a problem. My CUE LE works fine for long periods with the controller and VDJ 6.01 trial works for long periods with the keyboard.
Confused !!!

I dont know why but when i installed VDJ 6 in my laptop the resolution was terrible. for some reason virtual dj 5 looks a lot better on my laptop. is there a way to fix the resolution so that i can use it in my 18 inch widescreen.

Potentially a silly question, but if I'm running Numark Cue v5.2.1...how do I get upgraded or change to the latest version? Maybe I'm missing the difference/connection between Cue and Virtual DJ.

The latest version of Numark CUE will be available via the Download Center ( http://www.virtualdj.com/download/updates.html )
It's availability is based on when Numark has validated the release and makes it available. And you can also look at the Numark website for notice of availability.

Hey everyone,
I resolved the question I had earlier in this thread - ended up that I needed alot more RAM...got a new laptop anyway and it runs NEARLY flawless. I say nearly because here is a "bug" (maybe?) I found that I'd at least share with the development team.
On the main interface in v. 6.0.1, you can double click on the main video screen (or MASTER OUT) to activate the video output, which is great to not have to go into the config menu to do so. Sometimes when I'm playing vids and I'm mixing, I undo the auto video trasition while I'm mixing/playing with the next song/video so that both videos aren't showing. When I'm ready, I click on the smaller video screen of the song that I've mixed into to fade the video over. Now, the problem I found is this: Sometimes I accidentally end up clicking the main video screen (MASTER OUT), thereby disabling the video out. When I realized what happened I go ahead and click again to re-activate it, the program locks up and I have to pull up the task manager to shut vdj down and restart.
As you can imagine it can be quite fustrating if it happens mid-performance. While I realize the freeze up is a result of something I did, is this something you guys can look into? Maybe just making it able to activate the video output that way, and not allowing to de-activate while the decks are active? Not a major thing in the grand scheme of things - other than that I am thrilled with v.6.0.1

hey guy's and girls';)
since i upgraded my program to ^.0.1 i got some issue's (such as many more i read)
1. sometimes the 2 pitch sliders are somehow connected??
meaning moving 1 to +33% on Deck A, moving also auto the Pitch slider on Deck B, But then i can't manually set back the B deck Pitch slider
sometime it occurs, sometime it doesn't :S
2. on my RMX in the '5' version of VDJ you did have that scroller function, down arrow in combination with a jogwheel on the RMX
I Can't find a way to get it back, do you know how i can get that function back?? it helps me to get easily trough my music folders, so it was kinda handy
i hope you guy's come with some solution, the guy's at the Dutch Forum didn't have a Clue

@SkyRMX: I also have had the same problem (point 1) like you in Version 6.0.1 with the RMX console and in Version 5.2.1 without the RMX console connected.
If you drag an song to deck a the pitch of deck b goes up to ~20-30% and you CANT manually set it back!
I have also reported this in the german forum and il hope this get FIXED in the next version!!!!
Did anyone know when an updated version will be released?

@SkyRMX
1. On the RMX, if you hold the beat lock button for more than about a half-second, you've engaged the "beatlock" function, which locks the pitch sliders on both decks so that if you move one, they BOTH move together. When you push the button and release it immediately, however, you are actually using a feature called "key_lock," which allows the tempo of the track to be changed without affecting the actual pitch when you move the slider. If you do not need or use "beatlock" for anything, you can disable this feature by changing the button's behavior in the mapper. If you DO occassionally use this feature, you can use the mapper to turn on an LED to let you know that it is engaged...Otherwise, there's no easy way to know for sure.
Here is what you can do in the RMX mapper (config-->mappers):
~to disable the button function for beatlock, edit the BEATLOCK button action:
Change from "holding ? beatlock : key_lock" to just "key_lock"
~to keep the function and have the RMX notify you that it is on with an LED (the SYNC LED was used in this example):
First, create a new mapping function named LED_SYNC by clicking the plus sign at the bottom of the mapper window.
Then set the action for it to "beatlock ? on : off"
This action also keeps the sync LED from blinking to the beat - a feature that I do not use because I find it annoying. If you want to keep that feature, however, just add the "beatlock ? on :" part before the default action that is already there.
2. My way of doing this is not for everyone, but I much prefer it to the old way.
In the RMX mapper, change the following actions:
LEFT: browser_folder & deck 1 wheel_mode "browser" while_pressed
--this lets you scroll through the directory tree with the left jog while you hold the left button.
RIGHT: browser_window "songs" & deck 2 wheel_mode "browser" while_pressed
--this lets you scroll through the songs in the main browser window with the right jog while you hold the right button.
If you want to use the same jog for both, just choose either deck 1 or deck 2 for both actions.
This should solve your issues ;)

I'm using Hercules Rmx
How can I make this work..
