Check out Numark's new dj controller http://www.numark.com/mixtrack
I wonder how good the platters would be for scratching. I wish it would've come with VDJ LE instead of that other one. The only bad thing is that it doesn't come with a sound card, that would've been great though.

The Scratching is good. The platters are the same as the mix Deck. It doesnt say anything about not having an audio interface...

Yes, it does ;-) :

MINIMUM COMPUTER REQUIREMENTS
Mac: OS X 10.5, Intel Core Duo 1.66 GHz
PC: Windows XP (SP3, 32 bit), Vista (SP1, 32/64 bit), or 7 (32/64 bit); Pentium IV or Athlon 1.4 GHz (SSE1)
1 GB RAM
100 MB free disk space
DVD drive
USB port
Optional: Four-output sound card for cueing and playback

Searching the www some sites already have posted articles about this controller.(No reviews, it's not available yet) It only has a USB-connection, so it uses your internal or additional external soundcard. Retailprices are expected to be $149,- so for that kind of money I guess you can't expect it to have onboard sound.
Minimum requirements are a bit heavy. I'm wondering what the recommended specs would be...... :s

The release date I saw on a site was the 7th of July for stores so I can't wait.

Anyone have one of these? I know its probably on the "cheap" side but i was looking for a new toy to play with. thanks

The touch sensitivity is great on these its similar to the Discover DJs jogs if you had played with that its very responsive.
It features a new auto calibrating method that will adapt to your environment automatically.

Recommend specifications for any controller/software combo with VDJ is:

RECOMENDED system requirements:

* Intel® Core™ 2 or AMD Athlon™ X2
* 1024x768 SVGA video
* Multi-channel DirectX compatible soundcard
* 1024MB RAM
* 30MB free on the hard drive

Additional requirements for Video mixing:

* 2048MB (2GB) RAM
* ATI™ or NVIDIA® video card w/256MB of Dedicated DDR3 RAM
* Video card must support dual-screen output

I am also looking for that kind of controller. Another choice can be the new Gemini Ctrl six or ctrl one.

Hope VDJ offers the numark controller support in their next version.

V6.1.1 that was released last week has all the new Numark controllers supported. Just download and install the latest version.

woooooo hoooooo!!!
Japadapa doooo!!!

Great news - now I have to wait until my dealer has the Mixtrack Controller!

Thanks for the update

btw: Is there a site where I can find ALL controllers supported in VDJ?

go to the config menu, then to mappers tab, on there click on the mappers option & uncheck "show only connected devices". you sould be able to see all the devices supported in VDJ instead of just the keyboard. make sure you have the latest version

great information - thank you for the help!!!

Who is this aimed at? it looks like a toy.

Its designed to bring touch functionality to a never before achieved price point.
The scratching is great on it.

In comparision to the Hercules MP3 Console it is much better due to the touch sensitive Jog-wheels, I was missing at Hercules. And it has a better layout.

Does someone know when we can expect Mixtrack in Europe/Germany?

Contact your local Numark stockist for the latest information.

Ok, I think I missed something here.........does this have a built-in soundcard and can the crossfader be mapped out to work with video?? I understand this is a starter unit but I have never messed with ANY controllers ever and I think this would be nice until I get the American Audio unit.

Thanks for your time
Huey

Ok nevermind about the sound I just reread the thread but still would like to know about the crossfader......

No soundcard included. Thus you need a soundcard on you PC that has two stereo outputs, one for the Main channel and one for the preview of the next track. For me I have the Maya 44e soundcard with the Hercules MP3 Console, and I only have to unplug the Hercules and to install the Numark Mixtrack that's it.

@skyfxl

Do you have the meassurements of the Mixtrack (L x H x D) ????
Thnks
