Este tópico es antiguo y puede contener información incorrecta para la nueva versión.

sorry guys!

ill read it all i promise.

The only recommendation I ever had that I would change is the ability to Delete our OWN posts or comments which we can't seem to be able to do right now. There have been times I could not find anything using the search & have posted something that I needed an answer to, that probably was already posted. If I started the initial post, I would think I should be able to delete it, or even a comment in the middle of another thread as long as I am the one that posted it. Or can this not be done?

I don't choose to help someone on the basis of their NLU or any other status. It depends on how much time I have at that moment. We all lead hopefully full & busy lives outside this forum, which is for the most part excellent.

I have helped & been helped by many.

ok read it, some very good points there regarding NLU's. i remember when i first came to these forums and got slated for trying to get help and having no license.

i searched and searched for answers and asked questions but got only a mediochre responce. i was about to give up when dazmax popped up and helped me out without and judgement.

i fully understand how NUL's are potential licensees because i wouldnt be here now with my lisence and working towards the real deal if it wasnt for that one person treating me with respect and providing me with the knowlege in needed.

if thats all it takes to swing someone the right way and have them be an active licensed member of the vdj comunity then im all for it.

although i do have my moments (as do we all) i try to help as best i can id give as much info possible no matter what the license status of the individual. i especially like to help the newbies as the gift of knowlege is far greatter then a smack in the face or a half baked answer.

i only hope to shed my "moments" and be as best a contributer as i can be. to who ever i can help.

peace and banannas!

As you mentioned in your earlier post, It's a Canadian thing Rob!

This forum has continually digressed since the release of VDJ Home edition. I understand why the home edition exists and I understand the users complaints as I am one of these users. I am not here to argue or attack NLUs as this thread has suggested. I am a firm believer in this software and that is the sole reason I join in.

I own Serato Itch and Traktor Scratch Pro also. Their software doesn't touch VDJ but their forums are much better in my opinion I'm sorry to say. It would be nice to find some balance in VDJ as a whole.

Yeah, that response will get you the right kind of attention....

This response is neither positive nor mature thus defeating the whole purpose of this thread.

Rob,

Feel free to PM a moderator if you want a post removed and we can level it from view.

The ability to remove posts is a difficult one, as it can give disruption to the flow of a thread. It's worth noting that moderators cannot completely delete posts either.

Regards,

Scott

Go mention anything about VirtualDJ on the Serato forums and make sure you say you use it. See what kind of 'respect' you get - even if you are an Itch owner. You think things are bad here - you haven't seen nothing until you see how the Serato users treat 'non-Serato' users.

As for Traktor, they are really no different than what we have here. They have a pretty robust community and do have the same things occur there as here - people not using their search, people wanting info about their illegal versions, people posting about things totally not related to a particular forum or Traktor. Do a search for VirtualDJ on their site and read some of the threads that come back -- you will see about the same responses. And unlike what started this thread - Traktor's forum users don't complain about what they call 'Forum Newcomers' -- they just treat them like a new person on the block. Something that our users can learn from.

Dont change a thing... I thnik its nice to see new bods comming on-line and even if the questions are sometimes a little basic it does, as has been said, foster a sence ov community and connectedness. It also gives the new people a chance to chat the old-timers here (i know i learnt alot from just following whats going on)

One love, one Community..

'Nuff said.

If you are not getting help on this forum, maybe it's you. When I first came here, I got nothing but help. I am not the nicest guy in the world, and have no problem saying exactly what's on my mind. However, when I need help, I'm going to ask for help in a respectful way. I am going to be patient and wait for that help. I am going to be grateful for the help I receive. Then I am going to help others with the knowledge that I have been given. Sometimes I don't know the answer, but will contact someone who does. Do I help everybody on here, No. I don't like everybody on here, so I ignore those that I think are idiots. However, someone else will come to help them. I don't like all the rules here, but it is not my forum, so I have to abide by their rules. The truth is, who says everything has to be to my liking? This forum was here before I got here, and will be here if I leave.

Rob,

There is a good reason why we do this. No posts are deleted its a rule set by the CEO of Atomix. Instead posts are elevated to a level that may not be visible to all. Again this is a rule set by Mr. Clavel himself. If you feel you need to revise your post or remove it simply post in your thread and a moderator will be happy to do that for you. Remember moderators are here to help and this is just one of the many things they can do for you. All you have to do is ask.

Yes the 'Mods' are on top of when I ask to have something changed or removed as I got my answer etc. Keep up the good work guys.

I tried to guide you in private. Calling me out in public will not evoke the response you're hoping for. Attitude is very important on these forums, as I tried to explain privately. Sorry you mistook my attempts at helping you an as attack but, it does not change the way things are handled on these forums. As I stated in our PMs, if I perceive the majority of your posts as negative, so will most of the users.

As in every other aspect of life, what happens next is up to you. The way you deal with it will define what happens next. The decision is yours, Good Luck
