Hello Guys, Long time no post.
I've been using VDJ for a while now mobile dj'ing and am loving it!!
I am now attempting to dip my toes in the video/effects area.

I cannot for some reason get the sonique visuals or slide show working. I have browsed the forums for where to place the effects/visuals and still no joy. I can load a music video and get the sound and video in the screen, but when i play an MP3 track the screen goes black. I have selected Sonique in the fx tab and pressed activate. I read that i need the sonique plug-in which i think i have, sonique.dll. It is also listed as an option to select in the fx area. On this note i also cannot get the slideshow of pictures working, the screen is sometimes all white or just black.

Can anyone please point me in the right direction as i am obviously being thick here.

You must first download the Sonique Visuals from the website. Then you must "open" the folder and actually point to one of the visualisations and have it activated. The same with the slideshow, you have to show it where the pictures are in order for them to play.
You do all of this in the effects area

I done all of that.
I select FX, then tab to Video Effects and highlight Sonique. I then click Open and select starwave.svp nd OK. I then click Activate.
I load an mp3 and play it and nothing happens. I have also selected use sonique in the config option. ?????
Are the sonique visuals ... .svp etc, if so i have loads of them stored in my videoeffects folder.

just making sure of things:

place a song in the deck play... video affects> sonique> open > pick one > slide show some in the middle > activate > make sure the tranparency is move to left side for full resolution.

Do the same thing with Slideshow.

I purposefully left the step of config out... just wanted to make sure your plug in working properly. After that then we can get you config to work with the music / video being played.

and just for giggles: slide fader from inactive deck to active...

I have done that and at the bottom of the screen i can see the text;

F:\Program Files\VirtualDJ\PlugIns\VideoEffects\Stars.svp

This file path is changing from one .svp to another i.e. in a slideshow style, but the picture in the VirtualDJ Video window is black.

This is the same for slideshow. The file path is changing but no pictures are being displayed.

Xp or Vista? When you click on effects>sonique, does a menu open? Do you have the options in this menu to Activate, Open, Slide-show, Slide-show delay, Transparency? When you select open, does a menu open up, with all the Sonique visuals? Select slide-show, set Slideshow Delay, and Transparency all the way to the left, and go to config. Video>video output, select activate and you video card should be in the pull down. Select Decode while hidden, Activate on load, and use this plug-in for audio-only files, sonique should be in the pull-down, and OK. Play a song and tell us what you see.
 
Hi, I am using XP.
When i click effects>sonique there are options on the right but no menu opens up. The options are as you describe. I click activate and then open a visual ****.svp as you describe. The only thing that is different is in config, under video > video output i check the activate box but the only option in the tv output is window and not my graphics card. Could this be the problem? Why is my card not there? Thanks again
 
We assumed your computer is up to specs... maybe not. What is your computer specs?
 
R u using V4 or V5, if u using the v5 make sure the soniques effect is at my documents..not the usual program files like when u have v4. About the options, yes it only window output only n u must click activate n the hardware accelaration. (if not u will have black screen). also tick use this plug in for audio only n select sonique which in case u havent done so.. Also select the ones from my document of ur com (V5 ones).. Hope this helps.

Please say it's up to the job!!! As i said before it plays music videos ok?!?!??

512 ram..hmm it best if u can upgrade it to 1 gb at least with xp, Sonique visiualisation use up rams..

btw have u try the settings i suggest above^^?
 
I have done all of the above (I promise!)
I am currently on version 4.3

You don't see your video card in the video output window? Did you try the pulldown? Do you have a second monitor hooked up? Do you see your videos on this monitor? If you see your videos, then you should see Sonique.
 
Even when u click the hardware acceleration, it still black?? well, i supposed more ram is needed. 512 is not enuff. for strictly audio yes, it will be ok. but with video, sonique etc on i dont think it is enuff. For xp it betta to have 1 gb but fo vista 2gbif u wanna be on audio n video side.

So u using v4.3, y dun u try v5 n see if that changes? U can have both v4.3 n v5 on the same pc. Just do search on this on the forum.

maybe someone with more experiences on this matter will help ya:)
 
I have downloaded the upgrade to v5 and its still the same.
My graphics card is not in the drop down box...just <window> How to i get it to be listed in there?
I just this second dragged a music video onto the deck and it loaded and played a treat no problems at all. I selected sonique on the other deck and nothing happens.. I fade over to the next deck and the screen is black.

What sonique downloads should i have on my system, all i have is the following;

sonique.dll
sonique.ini

I also have the All_sonique_plugins zip file.

Is your second monitor hooked up and extended??? It must be hooked up and extended for VDJ to see it
 
I don't have a 2nd monitor hooked up at the moment. But will do tomorrow night (if i can get it sorted!)
A small vdj window opens up in the corner and is black. Shouldn't this show the fx
 
Aaaarrrrrggggghhhhhh!!!!!!

Did sonique come already activated with VDJ or do i have to do something to activate it???

Click effects, Sonique, and then Open. How many files do you see?
