I doubt that, I had a 3500 for a month till I got rid of it. I hope they made alot of changes

I've used Pioneer equipment my whole DJ career...

If you walk into ANY semi-size or large club (in Europe at least), you will most likely see a Pioneer DJM600 mixer, and 800/1000 Pioneer CDJ players...

Why? Pioneer makes ROCK solid stuff, that LAST.. and last , and last..
The CDJ500 (old classic) was so durable, people still buy it used... (its like 10 years old or more).

In my eyes, Pioneer Pro DJ line is the very top notch DJ equipment there is.

(but Pioneer also carry cheaper "entry DJ" stuff like CDJ100/200, cheaper mixer etc.. But even those are better than what most other dj hardware makers sell as their topline, no names mentioned )

In terms of tabletop CD players (with static jogwheels) there is no real alternative to the Pioneer range. For "Scratch" DJ's who like the rotating platter then the number one would Numark, whilst the quality from Denon and Technics is more debatable, especially the latter.

Mixers aren't as clean cut though, whilst the Pioneer range of mixers are very solid and feature rich, so are many from other brands including: Numark, Denon, Vestax, Ecler, Rane, Allen & Heath, Korg and more. Mixers seem to be a bit more down to personal choice rather than all wanting the same product (as is more the case with CD players).

.. with one exeption... durability ;)

And thats why so many clubs find it smarter to invest in Pioneer, and so many djs to the same ... Thats stuff is made to last, last and last... 4 ever it seems... heck the damn CDJ500 player still around at so many places, its antique by now ..hehe

i work with pio mixers all the time... meaning ALL THE TIME... big clubs and privately at home, Pio 800's... and yes (like all audio equipment) they cause hum if you dont connect the grounding properly, like the first guy said... GROUND LOOP ISOLATOR.. if you power is up 2 par... there lot of information about this on the net i presume. And like most other dj's its on my RIDER 2!

We have trouble with Pioneer way too often. Thing is we NEVER use the same set. If we replace the pioneer with Rodec or Ecler the problem is solved.

yes although ground loop isolators can be used with ANY sets here is a pic of what it looks like.
