Yo Terry, what static issues are you having? Tell me yours, and I''l tell you mine. Oh, by the way, no crying from me. The software works great for me.

I was at a very posh country club with thick pile carpeting and kept shorting out when I would touch my coffin case. To resolve it I bought a static wrist strap like is used to work on PCs/circuit boards (6.00USD) and the problem has not returned. Like I said not a software issue at all.

I knew it. For a while, if I rushed into the booth, and reached for the mouse, my machine would reboot. I thought it was the power supply so I got a new case (could not change the power supply in that case). It seem to work, but then, pow the same thing. I changed outlets, breakers, power cords, used shower oil on my body, wore anti static straps, no more warm up suits. Then it hit me, when the manager walked into the booth, and the machine rebooted. I had my headphone to my ear, and heard the crack of static, in them. It only happened in the winter time, when the heat was on, coupled with the carpet. So, since Nov., I spray the carpet in the booth, and the new carpet in the VIP section with water, at the beginning of my shift. I do the same thing when I work at mobile gigs, even though it has never happened at a mobile gig yet. Now that's something to worry about, but not any more.

I LOVE Virtual DJ, I realize this everytime I am asked to guess DJ unexpected and I stuck with someone else set of CDs(that skip) and CDJ 1000s with no VDJ. I miss my Samples my Cuepoints that are always set. my effects, my smart loops, L2's skin, my ICDX, loopout 2.0..... sometimes I wana cry... but I still rock the party anyways. Regardless of the situation you gotta DJ with all your heart. VDJ has let me down a few times(like any love in your life). A crash here or there(3 Crashes Total so far) BUT I have always been able to recover seemlessly with use of the Mic and a great song selection on the restart.

Keep it Grooving

you should have been round when there was only the twin decks and all that black stuff to lump around not to mention the grossly outsized speakers, aahhh those were the days, NOT

Hehe...Yep ;)

I think anyone who has constantly criticized VDJ on this board should be flashed back several years and forced to use a different Software/DJ product with little or no support. For me it was PCDJ, which in my case never got fully fixed, enter Virtual DJ! I think VDJ & our community is the best out there. Let's face it if there were a better product out there we probably wouldn't be wasting our time here. I've been a member since v2[1].06 and have NEVER looked back! I love this program, Go VDJ!!!!!!!!!

COUNT ME IN !!!

Ive been with VirtualDJ since version 1.xxx (and AtomixMP3 before that..)

ive not had any major problems with VDJ, but...

Ive constantly upgraded my system... Motherboard upgraded 3 times, CPU upgraded 4 times, ram upgraded several times...

now i run VDJ on 2gb of ram, Athlon 64x2 4200 processor, gForce 7950 graphics, all inside a shuttle case, with 3 harddrives inside.
(runs very cool, too. without over-running the fans)

but VirtualDJ has 'Grown' with me.

every update brings something new, and everytime it has always worked for me.

So thumbs up to the DEV team

:)

Glad this post came up.

I started out "mixing" cassette tapes (decks with pitch), moved on to vinyl, then CDs. Thought CD's were the best thing ever invented 'til I discovered the small miracle that is Virtual DJ.

I'm sure most will agree that with any of the mention media - Murphy's Law is always in FULL effect. Always needing a back-up plan for any of the media e.g two copies of a cassette of the most popular songs in case the deck "ate the tape", back-up needles, many back-up CD's, etc.

My very first gigs with VDJ were club gigs with nearly 2000 people in the club. At the beginning, I would take a TON of CD's in case Murphy reared its ugly face as it had in the past with other media.
VDJ has been so darn stable and so good at keeping Murphy at bay that now I only take a couple of CD's; One with my DJ Drops (more practical to press PLAY on a CD player), and a few others with a few megamixes of several different genres.

I enjoy the new options I now have with the use of VDJ. If I happen to only need a VDJ program reboot, I only need to have winamp ready in the background to keep the party going. If a full system reboot were to be needed then the megamixes in that one CD will keep the party going as well. My formerly aching back thanks me.

Thus far I have needed to reboot the program only once at the club (due to a bad quality video). If not for that one incident, I had nearly forgotten what Murphy looks like.

PS:
I must admit that I do invest time in reading this very forum to learn more about the program as well as invest long hours in putting VDJ through long simulations at home to iron-out any bugs before I take the system to the club.

What happened to the "unsatisfied users post"?? Was it removed?? Why?? I can't find it anywhere...

It's still there...

Btw, I love VDJ/VV.
I haven't had one crash on a gig yet (*knock on wood*)!
Sure, there's still stuff that needs ironing out, but all in all i think it's the greatest thing since sliced bread (or however that saying goes...)
I've been a long time Serato user (and still is) but to me Serato isn't even close...VDJ rock!

I have used 5.0.1, 5.0.3, 5.0.4, 5.0.5, 5.0.6, 5.0.7

I use it live on an average of 2 6hr gigs a week. Plus I have played with it alot throughout the week, every week. I have yet to experience 1 crash. I believe it has a lot to do with how the PC (ie Windows) is set up. Since I do PC repair for a living, and own my own shop. I have pondered selling an optimizing service, where people send me their computers, and I will do a clean OS install (Windows XP or Vista) but stripped down to the point where the Windows doesn't interfere with itself.

+1 HERE :)

Only ever crashed once for me at a gig, and that was my laptop dying ! - needs a new GPU :(

Sensibly, I had a backup with me :)

I worry about the software, the same as I worry about blowing a power amp or speaker, I don't. As for stability, that's just it, it's stable for me, and I do everything.

Do you sing too? :)

That is the same bs I tell the dancers when they come in the booth. I hate this job, and one day I'm gonna quit. I can't believe they pay me to do this.

Can't sing a lick, but I own the mic, and remind them of that fact over & over again. They don't like it, they can get the puck out. And now for my next song....
